THE LADIES BOARD NURSING SCHOLARSHIPS The Scholarship Committee of The Ladies Board of Inova Loudoun Hospital is seeking applicants interested in the profession of Nursing. The Ladies Board scholarship program was established in 1959 to award supplemental funds to worthy nursing students, and since that time we have awarded 850 scholarships, totaling $1,128,000. The Gift Shop at Inova Loudoun Hospital, Twice Is Nice Thrift Shop in Leesburg, our Lights of Love remembrance program and the Annual Ladies Board Rummage Sale raise funds for this important project. In 2012-2013, $123,600 was awarded to 77 students. Most scholarships ranged from $800 to $1,800.

In 2012 The Ladies Board celebrated 100 years of service to the community and support for the Hospital. As part of this celebration the Scholarship Committee awarded 2 special scholarships in the amount of $5,000 each.

Please note that students may be awarded only 2 CONSECUTIVE Ladies Board scholarships.

Criteria for selection include:

• A copy of your letter of acceptance into an accredited school of nursing. This is a REQUIRED part of your application. Funds are not available for pre-clinical studies.

• Academic performance. If you are currently enrolled in a qualifying program, please include a copy of your last semester grades.

If you were awarded a Ladies Board scholarship last year, you must have a 3.0 cumulative average (or its equivalent) to be considered for a scholarship this year. High school students need to enclose a copy of last semester grades.

• Residence or work in Loudoun County.
